Manu (Minquartia guianensis) also referred to as Manu Negro or Black Manwood is found in the moist lowland tropical forests from Nicaragua to Brazil and Peru. The tree grows up to 130 feet. The trunk can grow to just under three feet. The heartwood is brown but the sapwood is lighter with darker stripes.

This Manu/Black Manwood is from Costa Rica and was harvested and exported under government regulations. Epoxy resin has been used in the voids.
